It was made 16th May 1774 and it names Richard Sedgwick of Biggerside in Dent husbandman and Leonard Sedgwick of Kits Croft in Dent hosier, both of whom are bound in the sum of two hundred pounds to be paid if there is found to be any Precontract, Consanguinity or any other just cause why Richard Sedgwick of Biggerside in Dent husbandman and Agnes Dawson of the Chapelry of Garsdale spinster should not marry in the Chapelry of Garsdale. The document is signed by Richard (by his mark) and Leon'd in the presence of E Sedgwick and R Sedgwick. On the second part of the document [Allegation] Richard and Agnes were over 21...".
