1954 Certificate Married Gwenneth Audrey WILLIAMS on 27 Dec 1954 in Parish Church, Bispham, Blackpool, Lancashire. At the time of his marriage he was serving in the Royal Air Force, and lived at 55 Stubbin Lane, Firth Park, Sheffield, S Yorkshire. Richard's age is shown incorrectly as '20' on the marriage certificate and Gwen's age was given as 21. His age was subsequently changed to '19' on 23 May 1955, in the presence of G A HERBERT, wife, and A Pelham, witness.
Albert WILLIAMS was listed as the father, although he was really her grandfather. He and his wife Jane legally adopted her in 1938 following the death of her mother.
